I’m Tom, owner and lead videographer — welcome!

My team and I customize each couple’s experience to their interests and offer stress-free direction so you can enjoy the moment and not worry about anything. We get it…it’s your wedding day, and there’s already enough to think about. While we’re meticulous about planning and preparation on our end, we want it all to be a fun adventure for everyone involved, and we pride ourselves on going with the flow and working seamlessly with other vendors. “Storytelling” is a ubiquitous term, but it’s true…your story, your individual passions, and your moments with loved ones truly are paramount to everything else. The surroundings, the details, the looks, and your loved ones’ voices are all part of it — we would be honored to be your video team!

A little bit more about me:

I used to be a foreign language instructor for the U.S. government and am fortunate to have travelled a lot. My experiences exposed me to culture, fascinating stories, and beautiful sights that ultimately inspired me to start making videos and later become a full-time filmmaker. I run an overarching video business called Weightless Views Productions, but I started Gown and Tie Films so that I could continue filming weddings and give them the attention they deserve. It’s a blast for me to make such joyful moments last in films that couples love and will share with those closest to them forever. To quote Dead Poets Society, one of my favorite movies: “…but poetry, beauty, romance, love — these are what we stay alive for.”

I’m blessed with an amazing wife, our baby boy, and two pets (a dog and a cat, who periodically get along with each other). When I’m not hanging out with the family, behind a camera, or working on a video, I also enjoy running with our dog Charlie and spicy food with mezcal.

Based in Sacramento, California, Gown and Tie Films specializes in making captivating wedding films that showcase the passion and meaning behind each couple’s most special day. The gravity of each wedding is one of my favorite parts of the process. I love the rush and exciting rollercoaster of emotions that everyone gets (and oftentimes don’t expect!), and I get to be there to capture it all for generations to come.
